The World Wide Weapon: The internet

The internet; the net; the World Wide Web; the information super highway; whatever you call it the web is a powerful business tool yet some businesses are afraid to utilize it to their benefit. This “monster” can allow a business to reach millions of clients that fifty years ago were impossible to contact. With a single click of a mouse, clients and customers can access information about your business and even purchase your products.

With such a wide reach, should we be afraid?

The arsenal:

The web site: This is your business’ access point; this is what the planet will use to access your business. From this site you can place all of the information that a client or customer will need to know about your business. Not only customer/clients will see your business but possible investors will be able to see if your business is work investing in. Without a web site, this would not be possible. Obviously, the artistic design of the web site will decide if they stay long enough to read the information.

Having a dynamic website and not updating it frequently is worse than not having a website; also, taking long periods to up date the site leaving web surfers to see the dreaded “Under Construction “sign. Planning must be paramount when conducting updates and revisions.

An online store will allow customers to purchase your product from the comforts of their own home whether it is across the street or across the globe. Your customer numbers can double with this feature on your site. This application also with a strategy to increase the number of “hits” that your website has will be fruitful.

Embrace this monster. Treat it with respect and it will respect you, failure to do so will be at your own peril.
